200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Curriculum, Tuition and Costs

Curriculum

Areas of instruction that are offered as part of this training include:

Yogic techniques – Including asana (poses) practice and alignment, Pranayama (Breath work), and meditation.

Anatomy & Physiology – Including an in-depth understanding of the neuromusculoskeletal system, other systems of the physical body, the subtle energy body, how these apply to the practice of yoga, and how yoga can be used to address each of these systems therapeutically.

Yoga Humanities – Students will be exposed to the history of yoga, various ancient and modern yogic texts, and the ethical guidelines of yoga.

Faculty

Lead Trainer:  Katey Hawes, MS, PT. C-IAYT, E-RYT500
The lead instructor for this training is Katey Hawes, MS, PT, C-IAYT, E-RYT500. Katey is a Licensed Physical Therapist, and has completed 500 hours of Yoga Alliance Teacher Training including her Advanced Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Certification through Integrative Yoga Therapy and is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT). She has also completed countless continuing education hours.

Katey is a very experienced yoga teacher having taught hundreds of students over the years from therapeutic yoga to vigorous vinyasa in a variety of settings including her own successful studio, health care settings, national and state conferences, and retreats. She is the founder of the Tula Institute of Yoga and has been offering Yoga Teacher trainings since 2014.

Katey has a passion for supporting others in realizing their greatest potential, passing on the knowledge that she has gained from her many teachers, and sharing the many benefits of the ancient practice of Yoga for health, happiness, and healing.

Katey also invites guest teachers to present throughout the training offering you a rich tapestry of insights, perspectives, and styles.

In-person training weekends will be held:
Penobscot Bay YMCA (Saturdays)

In-person training sessions will meet 8:30AM – 5:00PM, Saturday & Sunday on the following dates:

  • September 7 & 8, 2024
  • October 5-6, 2024
  • November 16-17, 2024
  • December 7-8, 2024
  • January 4-5, 2025
  • February 1-2, 2025
  • March 1-2, 2025
  • March 29-30, 2025
  • May 3-4, 2025

Make up: May 17-18 (In the case of any cancelled weekend gatherings due to weather, etc.)

On-line live meetings will meet on Saturdays 9:00 – 9:45AM on the following dates:

  • December 14, 2024
  • January 11, 2025
  • February 8, 2025
  • March 15, 2025
  • April 12, 2025

Tuition & payment options: The cost for this training includes all in-person and online training hours, the Tula Institute training manual, and one 1-hour 1:1 session with  lead instructor, Katey Hawes. 

Payment in full – $500 deposit to hold space, balance of $2400 due by August 5, 2024.

Early bird – $500 deposit to hold space, balance of $2110 due by 5/27/2024.

Monthly installments – $500 deposit to hold space. Balance of $2400 can be paid in monthly installments, with final payment being due no later than 4/1/2025.

Upon acceptance into this program you will be given instructions regarding making payment to the Penobscot Bay Y.
